Project background

The SIRIOS project started in 2003 by CERT-Bund, the German national CERT, a section of BSI. The main goal was to develop an open-source incident handling system which fits the needs of CERTs. In order to enable security teams to exchange incident information and security advisories we decided to implement open standards like EISPP and IODEF.

Evaluation of other products in use by security teams, CERT-Bund identified several advantages of using a trouble-ticket system as a basis for the new project. SIRIOS was designed in cooperation with OTRS AG on top of their Open Ticket Request System (OTRS). Feedback from many CERTs located all over the world helped in developping SIRIOS so far.

SIRIOS is still under development. Feel free to contact the project team via email for details.
